Manuela Salinas Sierra

JUNIN

They have told me to my face that I am a saint
and I spat on their words, they made me 
unhappy; I am a witness to the trench that is night, 
and its demons; in this white veil that covers
me dwells the infertility of the spirit.

Manuela Salinas Sierra is a Colombian pianist, music teacher and poet. She has participated in different poetic meetings at the national level, such as the International Poetry Festival of Medellín and the 3rd Albatross Poetry Festival in the city of Manizales, among others. Her work has been published in the anthology of young poets La jaula se ha vuelto pájaro (The cage has become a bird) published by Fallidos Editores. She is also a member of the Poetic Collective New Voices, which directs different pedagogical, editorial and artistic processes in the city of Medellín.
