THE OTHER SIDE OF TRUE

Seeking out some
stimulation
Anything to change
the station
Mental form
of masturbation
In my mind
a conflagration

Warring nations
warring worlds
warring swine
war over pearls
Warring all the
boys and girls
Warring flowers
won’t unfurl

Rocks are hurled
stones are thrown
Crash
the house of glass
I own
All of my
true colors shown
have left me sad
and all alone

Entertain
myself with silence
try to fill the void

Ascertain
why there’s such violence
and everything’s destroyed

All I wanted
needed
sought
was a way out of my head

but I’m taunted
pleading
caught
in all the things you said

I play them back
back on repeat
a road I always tread

walking
talking
with myself
wishing I were dead

So fed up
with feeling faint
No head up
no holy saint
O erupt
you can’t be tamed
Go! Enough!
I am to blame

That’s why I came
back to the page
to find a way
out of the rage
To possibly
try to assuage
the boredom
that’s become
my cage

Can’t engage
without distractions
from the voices
splitting fractions

All the actions
I can take
to stay on track
secure and safe
from all the things
that feel so fake
and leave me bobbing
in their wake

So have some cake
and eat it too
Celebrate
we made it through
to the other
side of true
where I’m okay
and so are you
