BONJOUR SWEET CAKES
Eight a.m. Brooklyn, New York
Starbucks Cafe, their internet sucks
This time last year we were two points of a triangle,
even Jenna-Roll-Brawl couldn’t crack our three wall
When I broke my leg on that incomplete apex jump
you sat cross legged on my bed in Mile End Hospital
reading Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche
The time we smoked filter-less ciggies watching
Marquis de Sade’s Justine
Countryside visits with mémère,
her daily prayers for you to join the convent
You held my hair when I threw up
the one too many Kamakazes
petit-déjeuner the next day
you: Huevos Rancheros with crème brulee
me: squeezed orange juice, two aspirins on a plate
That spring morning we skated along the Champs-Élysées
I have loved you since you were a fetus
je t’aime,
Princess Slayer
Slay,
I covered my arms at Memere’s memorial today
she never liked my tattoos, I got a new one yesterday
purple lilacs like the ones in her garden
Mama loved the lilies you sent
It has been too long my derby wife
I found this recipe on the food network site
eggs, salsa, beans and jack cheese, lol New Years Eve
I am currently reading The Sexual Politics of Meat
Try outs tonight wish me luck
bon soir,
Sweet Skates
