Đặng Thân is a Vietnamese poet, fiction writer, critic, essayist and artist. As “a typical figure of post-Doi Moi literature he “created the utmost important turning point in the writing style of Vietnamese literature.” He pioneered Vietnamese alliteration and a new style called “phạcnhiên” in poetry and ideology. Đặng Thân has been invited to numerous international poetry festivals and his poems have been translated into twelve languages. His books have been published in the United States, Brazil and, lately, Italy. His poetry has also won prestigious international awards.
