to play for Heff, was told not to
talk with his bunnies
or he’d lose
this gig, but everyone
does their undies
at the same laundromat.

Past Poet Laureate of Kansas (2017-2019) Kevin Rabas teaches at Emporia State University, in Emporia, KS (USA), where he leads the poetry and playwriting tracks and directs the Donald Reichardt Center for Publishing & the Literary Arts.
