DANCING WITH THE LION TAMER

What part of you
yearns to Samba in this synthesis of man and beast?
Invade the tango with nothing to bring to the table
always the odd man out in this ever flowing
cavalcade of symmetry
this ever widening polka of destruction
because you choose to place yourself where
your body does not belong
not the tamer or the tamed
the metronome of two left feet
driving a fury of claws, teeth, and busted bongos
straight down the rabbit hole
and all that is left is you, foolish dervish
fated to die.
