OF LOVE, LOSS AND LIFE

As I stand alone with my dreadful thoughts of living without your love in my life
I ask myself from where will the strength come and will the emptiness in my heart heal
Loudly in my soul, your breath echoes still

Perfectly, your beautiful body lies Lifeless
colorless
I bear not to hold the mortal who has been my true beloved

A motionless moment last many hours
Standing, looking intensely at your face
Conversing as though you would answer me
Making promises, asking forgiveness

Relentlessly, to God I plead my case
But only silence enters into this place
