Suddenly last summer
a lady in a cage elevator
descended to the tropical garden
within her home,
her son gone, consumed,
while she mistook

a lady in a cage elevator
descended to the sweltering jungle
within her home,
her son gone, repulsed,
while she mistook
the intruder for him.
