Bob Heman

INFORMATION

Can almost remember sex. Can almost remember Spanish moss and the girl who lived in the white apartment. Can almost remember the canoe on Lake George and the deer leaping up the mountain at dusk. Can almost remember the fireman who burned the books and the Japanese beetles that infested the roses. Can almost remember swimming out to the sandbar before the lifeguard went on duty. Can almost remember the caterpillar that became a swallowtail butterfly. Can almost remember the beagle the woman pushed out of the car. Can almost remember the forsythia next to the side door. Can almost remember the sawhorses beneath the kitchen windows. Can almost remember being married.

BOB HEMAN’s poems have been included in numerous anthologies including Contemporary Surrealist and Magic Realist Poetry: An International Anthology (Lamar University Literary Press, 2022), Alcatraz (Life Before Man, 2022), Escape Wheel (great weather for MEDIA, 2020), and A Cast-Iron Aeroplane That Can Actually Fly: Commentaries from 80 Contemporary American Poets on Their Prose Poetry (MadHat Press, 2019).
