Lois Walker
A WORLD
I am still around
looking, always looking
and glad even excited
to see what is right here
that belongs to me
the push
of the brush remembered
as colors found their place.
and the tubing, copper trees
twisted, shaped the gentle
resistance as the trunk
and branches curved to my touch
it is about love, you know
creating a world of praise
for all that being alive
can give
has given me
has given us.
LOIS WALKER is a poet, painter and sculptor who has been a part of Long Island’s poetry scene for many years and has enjoyed seeing it grow more active during that time with much satisfaction. Keep it going.
