Autumn feasts upon the soft scenery

trees-bushes-grass swallowed by light.

Wind walks along the river

conversing with birds and small creatures.

Autumn readies itself

to close an eye inside a long white landscape.

Suspending animation,

until an itch begins

spreading surprise along sleeping roots

into newfound fields of ecstasy.

GLENN P. GARAMELLA was raised in Douglaston, N.Y. He attended Queens College and received a BA in Philosophy, also attended NYU receiving a MA in Counseling Psychology. He is a student of Eastern Religion and Spirituality as well as a lifelong meditator. He lives with his wife in Huntington.
